Mon parcours

My Journey

From the beginning of my career, I have been deeply interested in the complexities of human experiences that shape our lives. After earning my bachelor’s degree in nursing, I specialized in mental health with a master’s degree in nursing sciences and psychiatric care. This advanced training equips me to conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide insightful diagnostic impressions.

My professional growth has been enriched by additional certifications, including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), to diversify my therapeutic approach. My time as a birth doula also deepened my understanding of perinatal realities and fostered a special sensitivity to the needs of parents.

Psychiatric Care

Psychiatric Care

I spent several years working at the Gatineau Hospital in the short-term psychiatric unit. This role allowed me to develop a strong expertise in supporting patients in crisis, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.

Collaboration with OSP

Collaboration with OSP

I joined the team of therapists at the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre, contributing to the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) program. This position allowed me to refine my skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a proven approach for treating various psychological challenges.

My Approach

Each person is unique, and I tailor my methods to the specific needs of every client. My interventions are rooted in evidence-based practices such as CBT and NLP, while also integrating complementary approaches when appropriate. My goal is to provide guidance that aligns with your pace and preferences, within a warm and supportive setting.

A Word About Zuma

Zuma is a Bernedoodle who has been working with me since October 2024.

Due to his young age (under 2 years old), he is not yet certified as a therapy dog, although he is usually calm and cooperative. He may occasionally be a distraction.

Zuma has a hypoallergenic coat, which is generally well tolerated by people sensitive to allergens.

He is often a bit shy when meeting new people. You’re welcome to offer him treats — just be sure to respect his pace. This helps him build trust and learn the ropes, as meeting so many new faces each week is quite a learning experience!
